Home to Montanas very own Civil War Regiment!

Welcome to the home of the 1st U.S. Vol. Regiment-Company H. The group was formed in December 2013 to meet the needs of Montanan Civil War reenactors. After researching Civil War units, the 1st United States Volunteer Infantry was discovered as having  Company H stationed at Fort Benton Montana in June 1865. Holding true to Montana History, the 1st USVI was chosen as the regiment to portray.

Our focus is on conducting living history presentations, school talks, museum displays, and more. We also attempt to attend Civil War battle reenactments as they become available.

We welcome any and all to come check us out and to see what we do.  We welcome all families to participate and be a part of the group. There is something for everyone and we try to make it as fun and historically accurate as possible while keeping true to short history of the 1st U.S.V.I.

With the vast territory of Montana, we have members from all over the state. If you are interested in falling in with us, please check our member section to see if we have a member in the area who can help answer your questions.

Thank you for checking out the 1st U.S. Vol. Regiment-Company H. We look forward to seeing you in the field.

Captain Huether
1st U.S. Vol. Regt. Co. H
